The Minneapolis Target Center set to get a green roof

The Target Center in an effort to be more eco-friendly is proposing a Green Roof. The plan would include a growing zone 2.75 inches thick for much of the 115,000-square-foot main roof and 3.5 inches in a 32-foot-wide edge where there's more structural support...

The investment, will take longer to become cost effective than the current Minnesota Timberwolves contract is slated to last, begging the question if it really is a good investment. Some critics are saying that the structure may not be suited for a green roof and the Target Center is doing anything and everything it can to stay in the press and viable while it loses the scheduling battle for summer concerts with the Xcel Energy Center.
