Target Center Events Calendar looks a little bare compared to other venues

Outside View of the Target Center
Despite being just miles from each other the Target Center in Minneapolis and the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul are two totally different venues. The Target Center has a busy downtown feel that always seems to have something going on. The Xcel Energy Center in contrast has a just down the street vibe that makes the large scale venue feel much smaller.

Typically both venues have a spring and summer concert schedule that is non-stop. However, the Target Center Concert Schedule this spring seems to be a bit lacking in comparison to the Xcel Energy Center Concert Schedule. The Target Center is bringing in big names like Daughtryand Nickelback. But when compared to the Xcel Energy Center who has Taylor Swift, Bon Jovi, John Mayer, James Taylor and Carole King, and Michael Buble the Target Center seems a little empty.

If you are a loyal Target Center patron, I would suggest taking in some Minnesota Timberwolves games now, while there are still lots on the Target Center Calendar because after the Minnestoa Timberwolves Season the Target Center Schedule is going to start looking a little sparse.

Nickelback coming to the Target Center

Promotional Photo of Nickelback Group Members
Hit-Sensation Nickelback is coming to the Target Center Monday May 24th with special guests Breaking Benjamin, Shinedown & Sick Puppies. Grammy-nominated Nickelback has been on top of several charts including Billboard and was named the Billboard Magazine group of the Decade.

Nickelback's hits include "If Everyone Cared", "Hero", "Too Bad", "Because of You", and "Leader of Men". Although Nickelback Criticism at time has been harsh and abundant, the rock group Nickelback seems to fight through the haters time and time again to produce music that touches people and finds extreme popularity with millions.

The Minneapolis Nickelback concert will be a part of the Dark Horse World Tour that was extended into June 2010 due to its popularity. Nickelback is one of the "greats" as far as group touring goes and should not be missed!

Minnesota Gophers Border Battle for Men's Hockey Coming to the Target Center

Gopher Hockey Player #9 on the ice
The rivalry between the Minnesota Golden Gophers and the Wisconsin Badgers is undeniable, Badgers hate Gophers and Gophers can't stand Badgers. It makes sense, then that any time these two teams get even close to each other things get heated.

In NCAA Division-I Men's Hockey, the Gopher-Badger Rivalry is extremely strong. Annually, the two teams get together for the Border Battle, a face-off on the ice for who can hold bragging rights and superiority for the next year.

This year's Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey Border Battle will be at the Target Center on March 5th. Face off is at 7:00. This is the first time the Gopher-Badger Border Battle will be on the ice in downtown Minneapolis in over a decade, making the game even more hyped.

Tickets to the Gopher-Badger Hockey Game are limited and I would guess that they will sell very fast. Don't miss your chance to see it all live, buy Minnesota Gophers Hockey Tickets today!

The MN Orchestra presents the Music of Led Zepplin and Queen at the US Bank Theater at the Target Center

the MN Orchestra in Rehersal

Think that classic music is boring and going to the MN Orchestra is lame? WRONG. The Minnesota Orchestra is putting on a show at the US Bank Theater at the Target Center on Febuary 4th that will feature the music of rock legends Led Zepplin and Queen.

Our concept for The Music of Led Zeppelin was to take the music as close to the originals as we could and then add some colors to enhance what Zep had done,” says Brent Havens conductor and arranger. “The wonderful thing with an orchestra is that you have an entire palette of sounds to call upon. The band is reproducing what Led Zeppelin did on the albums, verbatim, and then having an orchestra behind the band gives the music richness, a whole different feel, a whole different sense of power.”

While no one could ever reproduce the music of Led Zeppelin and Queen perfectly, the Minnesota Orchestra presentation of these two rock legends is very close. Don't miss your chance to see how classical music is really not that much different than rock.
