Target Center quiet for Holidays
After tonight’s Timberwolves Indiana Pacers game the Target Center will be quiet until after the New Year. Can you believe it? No Timberwolves games or concerts for over 10 days. Enjoy the time off Target Center staff. Happy Holidays everyone!

R. Kelly Cancels Show
Citing "inclement weather," R and B artist R. Kelly has canceled his show tomorrow night at the Target Center. Kelly, who is on a 45-city tour to support his Double Up album said the show will not be rescheduled.
“Inclement weather” cracks this native Minnesotan up, surely Kelly isn’t talking about 20 degrees and partly cloudy skies as inclement weather. This music fan wonders if soft ticket sales aren’t the real reason behind the cancellation. Kelly has a unique elaborate stage set-up that probably costs more to run than the number of tickets sold for his Target Center show. Or perhaps Kelly’s run in with the law and his mandatory court appearance is in conflict with his Target Center stop, either way there will be at least a few disappointed R&B music fans in the Twin Cities.

Trans Siberian Orchestra at Target Center
The Trans Siberian Orchestra will be at the Target Center this weekend for it’s largest ever holiday tour. Trans Siberian will play in more than 90 cities over a ten week span that started on November 1st.
The Xcel Energy Center hosted TSO last year, but this year the Target Center booked the hit show just in time for the holidays. In fact, the show was so popular at the Xcel last year that the Target Center decided to book two Trans Siberian shows this Saturday December 15th at 3pm and 8pm. There are still great seats left from local ticket brokers and twin cities music fans won’t want to miss this hit sound and light show. Buy your Trans Siberian Tickets today! Happy Holidays everyone! Enjoy the show!

Timberwolves Tickets
It has officially hit rock bottom for Minnesota Timberwolves Ticket demand. My friend and his family headed down to the Target Center last Tuesday for the Timberwolves versus Lakers game. He was able to buy Minnesota Timberwolves Tickets with a face value of $260/Ticket for $50/Ticket. The seats were in the VIP section and only four rows from the court. I was amazed to hear that a person could buy Lakers/Timberwolves Tickets for 1/5 of the face value. In years past, that was an untouchable Timberwolves Ticket.
I am sure that with their slow start, there will be plenty of bargains to be had the rest of the season. Hearing those prices, I think I am going to have to venture down to Target Center Minneapolis for a couple of games this winter. Let's face it, it is still an NBA game even though the Timberwolves are having a down year.

Foo Fighters at Target Center
The Foo Fighters just announced a 2/27 show at the Target Center. The Target Center Concert Tickets for the Foo Fighters show go onsale 12/1 at the Target center Box office as well as all Ticketmaster locations. If you get shut out on Saturday, don't be afraid to buy tickets online from Ticket King because I am sure that their prices won't be high.

Timberwolves Tickets
I talked to my buddy that dabbles in ticket scalping for the Minnesota Timberwolves games and it sounds like Minnesota Timberwolves Tickets could be had for pennies on the dollar outside the Target Center tonight. He sold two VIP Tickets with a face value of $260/Ticket for $50/Ticket at game time and he considered himself luck to get the sale. At those prices, it is probably worth venturing down to the Target Center for some NBA action this winter. The Timberwolves may stink bu that doesn't mean that the team they are playing also stinks. It might be to the point that it will cost you more to park than what it will cost to buy two Minnesota Timberwolves Tickets.

JingleBall 2007 at Target Center
101.3 KDWB will once again be hosting it’s annual Jingle Ball at the Target Center on Friday, December 7th, 2007 at 7:00 PM. The multiple artist show includes performances by Kanye West, Avril Lavigne, Timbaland featuring One Republic & Keri Hilson, Good Charlotte and Jordin Sparks. The Target Center will have a typical end stage set-up with all reserved seating. It’s an all ages show that is always popular with the KDWB listeners/crowd. Kanye West is pretty hot right now and so is Avril Lavigne so I expect this show to be popular at the Target Center. Buy Jingle Ball tickets early or if you are lucky you can win them from the radio station.

Target Center hosts Dane Cook and Timberwolves Basketball
The Target Center Schedule for November is filled with Timberwolves NBA games and comedian Dane Cook on Friday November 23rd (the day after Thanksgiving). The young Timberwolves team puts on a high energy show and Timberwolves Tickets are pretty cheap right now so if you have NBA fever, scoop up a pair and head out to the Target Center for an evening out.
Dane Cook should also be a good time during his rough around the edges tour. I just saw Dane in Steve Carrell’s new movie Dan in Real Life and I saw him on the Letterman show recently. Dane Cook is a funny guy, he’s no Steve Carell, but he is a funny and his human behavior jokes always crack me up. He is doing a center stage set-up at the Target Center and if you think you will need a good laugh after a crazy day of shopping, buy Dane Cook Tickets!

Ozzy Osbourne Tonight!
Happy Halloween Target Center fans! Need something scary to do tonight? Head on down to the Target Center and see Ozzy Osborne and Rob Zombie perform live. The duo should put on quite a show for hard rock fans. The Minneapolis concert stop is unique because of the added Halloween hype surrounding the show. Target Center doors open at 6:30pm with the show scheduled to start at 7:30pm. The concert is sponsored by 93X and has been dubbed the 93X Halloween Ball.
In fact, 93X will be holding a Pre-Party Halloween Costume Contest at NBA City Restaurant from 5:30 - 7:30. Contestants will be judged by Sharon Osbourne herself. 6 finalists will get to meet Sharon backstage before the show. Sharon will narrow it down to 2 or 3 finalists and bring them on stage. The winner will be determined based on the crowds loudest response. The winner will receive a framed & autographed Ozzy Osbourne bandanna! This Target Center fan is curious how many people will actually be dressed in costume tonight at Target Center and how will you be able to tell who is in costume and who is wearing their every day clothes.
Waited until the last minute to buy tickets? That’s OK, Ticket King still has main floor seats for $60 / each. That is cheap! Enjoy the show and have a safe and Happy Halloween!

8,000 Timberwolves Fans
The official announced crowd for the Minnesota Timberwolves pre-season opener versus the Indiana Pacers last Wednesday was around 8,000. However, my buddy that went to the game because his boss gave him a pair of tickets said that there was no way that there were actually 8,000 "butts in the seats" at the Target Center. He estimated the crowd to be closer to 5,000 and was fired up that he was able to move down to the VIP seats midway through the first quarter.
Since I am a Timberwolves fan, I look at this year as a great opportunity to catch some Timberwolves games from up close without having to pay big bucks. I am confident that except for a couple of the marquee games at the Target Center, I will be able to buy excellent Timberwolves Tickets for face value or less. That is good news for me but bad news for Timberwolves Season Ticket Holders or any Minnesota Ticket Broker.

Target Center Box Office is a Joke
A friend of my wife's bought Hannah Montana Tickets from Ticketmaster last week and the only delivery option was for the tickets to be picked up the night of the show at the Target Center Box Office. On the surface, that seems relatively convenient. However, My wife's friend learned tonight that she couldn't pick them up until after 5:00. She showed up at the Target Center at 5:00 and had to wait in line for 1 1/2 hours just to pick up her tickets. What was the point of not letting people pick up the tickets, that they had purchased, until after 5:00? I wasn't surprised to hear this story, the Target center Box Office seems to forget that customer service is part of their job. This would have never happened at the Xcel Energy Center.

MESSAGE FOR HANNAH MONTANA TICKET HOLDERS
Everybody seems to be overpaying for Hannah Montana Tickets and Inside Edition would love to speak with parents who overpaid the most. She will be happy to set up an interview for you with the IE crew at Sunday’s show.

Hannah Montana this Sunday at Target Center
One of my friends offered to write a blog entry for me regarding the upcoming Hannah Montana Concert – here is what she had to say (and in many places she is just being too nice, you should hear her TALK about this – she is very opinionated on the priorities of parents and our local media). Thanks for the article K!

HANNAH MONTANA
The Target Center will finally host Hannah Montana this Sunday October 21st. The concert has received plenty of media attention since it went on sale the first week of September. This is the first Target Center show that I can remember that has received so much hype for such an extended period of time. Yes, Hannah Montana is a Disney superstar, but seriously should she receive more media than other important world issues? I am sure the Target Center , TicketMaster and Hannah are laughing all the way to the bank.
The whole Hannah Montana controversy started because there were upset tweens and parents that, despite their best efforts, didn’t get tickets to the show. The Hannah ticket “crisis” created quite a stir in the community. Local ticket brokers have tickets on the Internet for above face value and so does TicketMaster through their auctions and ticket exchange, but local Hannah Montana fiends didn’t want to pay their prices so they appealed to the media and legislature for support and they got it. Every local news station and newspaper has run at least 3 Hannah Montana stories – do the math (4 TV stations, 2 Papers – 18 stories) That’s almost a story a day on a 14 year old singer that is stopping by the Target Center to sing for an hour. I am sure the Target Center loves all the attention and is doing it’s best to keep the story in the spotlight. In fact, the Target Center even released extra tickets last weekend to fans who could come downtown on Saturday to their box office.
It just amazes me that people care so much about the cost of a concert – if you don’t like the prices, don’t go. I won’t pay $85 for a Hollister sweatshirt because I think that is too expensive (and it will last longer than a 4 hour concert), but I am not calling the media and my local representative to look into why Hollister charges so much for a cotton garment. Parents need to get a grip on their priorities and use this show to teach their kids about supply and demand and disappointment. Are we raising a generation of children that get whatever they want? Or is that their parents get whatever they want? This show makes me worry about peoples’ expectations of what they are “entitled” to in this world. I think parents should be more concerned about the increase in grocery prices to feed their children than the increase in ticket prices to entertain them – where have our priorities gone?

Target Center Brings Sugarland
The Target Center has been pretty quiet the last few weeks with the Timberwolves in Europe for Timberwolves Training Camp. I guess I didn’t realize how much daily traffic the Wolves brought into the Target Center even on the off-season. I know a certain amount of players have been practicing at Target Center almost every day and there is always a media person or two snooping around, but with the Wolves gone the last week it has been QUIET!
The next event to really bring some activity to this side of Minneapolis will be the Sugarland Concert on Saturday October 13th. Don’t miss Jennifer Nettles belt out her ballads and dance around to the peppier melodies – there are still good tickets left from local brokers. Sugarland Tickets. Otherwise, Ticketmaster has a few upper deck seats left as well. Remember this is a half arena set-up so best reserved sections are 111 and 131. ENJOY THE SHOW!

Ozzy and Rob Zombie, Halloween Night
Ozzy Osbourne and Rob Zombie will be performing live at the Target Center on Wednesday October 31st – yep, Halloween night. It should be a frightful show with two of heavy metal’s stars together on one stage. Frankly, I am amazed that Target Center scored such a memorable date.
This Minneapolis concert will follow BLACK RAIN, Ozzy’s critically acclaimed first album of new studio material in six years and ROB ZOMBIE’s hit film Halloween, which premiered number one at the box office in its debut weekend, grossing an estimated 31 million dollars. Ozzy’s new single “I Don’t Wanna Stop” is OZZY’s biggest rock song of his career, spending 20 weeks at #1 on the R&R Rock Chart and peaking at #1 on the R&R Active Rock chart. The song is also the lead track from EA’s Madden NFL ’08. His second single, currently at radio, is the powerful manifesto "Not Going Away." Ozzy’s album is flying off store shelves and he hasn’t been to Minneapolis in over 4 years so I expect this concert to sell out fast. Both Ozzy and Rob Zombie have a cult like following so buy tickets early if you want to spend Halloween night at the Target Center.

Target Center Gets Shows
What's up with the new trend of shows going to the Target Center? The trend started with the announcement of a Hannah Montana show on 10/21. Minneapolis music fans were next told that there was going to be a Van Halen show at the Target Center on 10/24. Just when we thought we had heard the last of fall shows at the Target Center, An Ozzy show as just announced for 10/31. Just when I had left the Target Center for dead, they trump the Xcel Energy Center with the announcement of three solid shows for this fall. I am sure that Rosen's, Lone Tree, Old Chicago and the rest of the Minneapolis bars are fired up for Minneapolis Concerts and the resurgence of the Minneapolis Concert scene. October will be a hoppin month for the Target Center and other downtown hangouts. Better buy your Target Center Tickets early!

Hannah Montana Media Madness
I wrote about Hannah Montana a few weeks ago when her Target Center concert just hit the news, but in the last few weeks every local news station has covered a Hannah Montana story ranging from angry fan club members who didn’t get tickets to crying six year olds that stood outside of the Target Center the day they went on sale only to leave empty handed.
Everyone is wondering where all of the tickets went and this Target Center blogger is no exception. I know the secondary ticket market scooped up plenty of Hannah tickets. Checking sites like Ticket King Minnesota I see hundreds of seats for the 10/21 show, but I don’t see hundreds of really good seats. Where are all of the first 10 rows? If the fan club didn’t get them and the ticket brokers didn’t get them – who has them? Ticketmaster! Ticketmaster has Hannah Montana tickets locked up in the Premium Seats Auction section of their web site. Ticketmaster is becoming just like ticket brokers across the country and charging an arm and a leg for good Hannah Montana seats.
I know many little girls are hoping to win Hannah Montana tickets, but will there be oodles and oodles of radio contests days before her big Target Center performance to score floor seats? I guess we will have to wait and see. If you want to be guaranteed a seat, be ready to pay big bucks. Hannah Montana fever is all over the Twin Cities!

Van Halen
Van Halen will be playing at the Target Center Minneapolis Wednesday October 24th. This could prove to be one of the hottest concerts of 2007. Inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in March of this year, Van Halen has produced a treasured body of work that rock 'n roll music lovers admire and follow fanatically.
Original lead singer David Lee Roth will be with the band that hasn’t toured in more than 20 years. Considered by fans and media alike as one of the most highly anticipated tours in rock and roll history, Roth, guitarist Eddie Van Halen and drummer Alex Van Halen will perform with Eddie's son, Wolfgang who joins the line-up as the band's bass player. Don’t miss Van Halen's signature hits like "Jump," "Panama," "Hot For Teacher" and more. Buy your Van Halen tickets now!

So You Think You Can Dance
So You Think You Can Dance is coming to the Target Center on Sunday, October 28th, 2007 starting at 7:30 PM. The dance tour features the Top 10 Finalists from the hit television show including Danny Tidwell, Dominic Sandoval, Jaimie Goodwin, Kameron Bink, Lacey Schwimmer, Lauren Gottlieb, Neil Haskell, Pasha Kovalev, Sabra Johnson and Sara Von Gillerni all performing their hottest routines in Hip-Hop, Contemporary, Ballroom, Mambo, Salsa and more live on stage!!! The Target Center will be filled with dance enthusiasts and just regular old TV watching junkies that want to see the dancers live on stage in Minneapolis.
The Target Center will have a unique 7 section main floor set-up with sections 2, 3 and 4 having the best view. If it was me, I would prefer to be elevated and sit in sections 112 or 130 right by the stage. Buy So You Think You Can Dance tickets now!

Hannah Montana : Miley Cyrus
Disney channel sensation Hannah Montana will be taking the Target Center by storm on Sunday October 21st. Played by Miley Cyrus, Hannah Montana is a popular show on the Disney channel. Hannah lives out every girl’s fantasy of leading a double life as both a pop star and a normal teenage girl. In the Best of Both Worlds tour, actress and singer Miley Cyrus will play half of her show singing Hannah Montana’s songs and the other half singing her own songs. Miley Cyrus is no stranger to the music stage and life of a touring artist as she is country singer Billy Ray Cyrus’s daughter. The latest Hannah Montana CD includes one CD of Hannah and a second CD of Miley singing her own songs so the show at the Target Center is sure to be jam packed with thousands of screaming young girls. I wouldn’t be surprised if many of the girls aren’t wearing their blonde Hannah Montana wigs. Parents take note, Hannah Montana is way more popular than the Cheetah Girls and is sure to sell out and be an expensive ticket so buy your tickets early for a guaranteed seat!

Sugarland
The Target Center will be hosting a CMT ON TOUR event on Saturday October 13th with special guests Sugarland, Little Big Town and Jake Owen. The Target Center will be set-up as a half house theatre with a three section reserved seating main floor. Sugarland was just in St Paul at the Xcel Energy Center opening for Kenny Chesney in April, but they are looking forward to headlining their own show and sharing their music with Minneapolis. Lead singer Jennifer Nettles has a powerful voice and great moves that will wow fans. Little Big Town and Jake Owen may be newer to the country music scene, but they both have top country singles right now and should draw some fan attention themselves. Tickets are fairly inexpensive and the Target Center is excited to invite country music fans out to a great October show.

My Little Pony Live at the Target Center
You are in luck if you are looking for something to take your kids to this fall at the Target Center. My Little Pony Live is coming to the Target Center this September 21st - 23rd. There are plenty of affordable ticket options with the highest price tickets being just $35. My experience with kids shows at the Target Center tells me that there isn't much reason to buy the highest price tickets because most kids are simply thrilled to just be at the show regardless of where they sit. Keep in mind, I think that they still serve beer during theses shows which will help you ease the pain of the show!

WWE Smackdown
The Target Center will once again be the host to World Wrestling Entertainment and the Smackdown superstars. WWE will be in Minneapolis on Sunday, September 9th, 2007. The Target Center doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with the matches starting at 7:30pm. Ring side tickets are available from online ticket brokers like Ticket King. You can sit 2nd row ring side for about $170 per ticket. Second row! That is close enough to see the ring shake when wrestling stars like the Great Khali, Batista, Ric Flair and others hit the ring floor. 2nd row is close enough to hear the WWE stars grunt and shout as they perform their signature moves. Prince Tickets Tighten Up
I talked to my favorite Twin Cities Ticket Scalper the night of the Prince show and he told me that there were absolutely no quality seats available for the show and that any fan looking for main floor tickets was going to go home empty handed. The Target Center Box Office is notorious for releasing a few choice seats the night of the show but from the sounds of it, the Prince Concert was a different story. I hope that all of you true fans bought your seats ahead of time instead of gambling on picking up some good tickets from a Ticket Scalper outside the Target Center the night of the show.

Hilary Duff at Target Center 8/23/2007
The Target Center will be host to teen sensation Hilary Duff on August 23rd. She will play to a half arena set up with three main floor sections instead of the standard two. Historically, when the Target Center adds an extra floor section, main floor tickets become much less valuable. If you dig Hilary Duff, don't rush out and pay big money now because I have a hunch that there will be bargains to be had closer to show date.

Minnesota Timberwolves Tickets
My friend who has a very good priority number went down to the Target Center for his Minnesota Timberwolves Select-A-Seat and was very surprised to find that there weren't that many good lower level locations available. The only seats that he was at all fired up about was a pair of Timberwolves Season Tickets in Section 132 Row 2. Those seats are second row behind the Minnesota Timberwolves bench! He decided to stick with his seats that are 13th. row center court for 1/2 the price. Maybe things aren't as bad at the Target Center as the media wants us to believe.

Minnesota Timberwolves Select-A-Seat
The Minnesota Timberwolves Select-A-Seat starts this Thursday for the those Timberwolves Season Ticket Holders that have held their Timberwolves Season Tickets for the longest amount of time. All Minnesota Timberwolves Season Ticket Holders have the opportunity to go to the Target Center and decide whether they would like to to move their ticket location. I am sure that due to the dismal Minnesota Timberwolves record last year, there will be plenty of opportunity to upgrade season ticket locations.
If you didn't notice, the Minnesota Timberwolves are currently selling Timberwolves Season Tickets in the lower level corner for less than $20/Ticket. That is a sure sign that things aren't going so well for the MN Timberwolves Ticket Sales Department.

The Fray
The next big concert event for the Target Center is The Fray. This Denver-based quartet’ earnest and melodic songs have been striking a huge chord with audiences. The Fray will take the Target Center stage on Monday June 11th at 7:30pm. Doors open at 6:30pm and special guests OK Go and Mae are slotted to open. The Fray began in 2002 when Isaac Slade (vocals, piano) and Joe King (guitar, vocals) hooked up to write great music. The group started at the bottom in Denvers local dives and worked their way up to touring across the nation and signing a big deal with Epic Records in 2004.

Prince Tickets
Prince has just announced one show at the Target Center on 7/7/2007 @ 8:30. Based on the $130 face value of the Target Center Tickets, he is definitely proud of himself. I wouldn't get caught up in the early feeding frenzy because it wouldn't surprise me if he announces the addition of a show after the first show sells out. The main thing that Prince has going for him that allows him to charge that kind of $ is that he puts on a GOOD concert. No one ever feels cheated as they are walking out after a Prince show. It is nice to see the Target Center and not the Xcel Energy Center have this marquee concert.
