Target Center Schedule

As far as music is concerned, the Target Center is lacking in the next few months. I suppose it is tough to convince too many rock stars that they should perform in Minnesota in the dead of winter.

Even with the Timberwolves, there is a lot of dead space on the Target Center Schedule the month of February and into March. The Target Center has some family type shows coming up like the Lipizzaner Stallions on February 21st and then a Disney on Ice run March 4th through the 8th, but that is about it.

I bet the Target Center is bummed that they didn’t get that Elton John Billy Joel show that is playing at the Xcel Energy Center on May 5th. That show has got to be a money maker. I bet it would be an interesting job to work in the entertainment promoting industry trying to lure shows to your venue over another – I am sure it is all about the money.

The Target Center is always announcing new concert events and one place you can go to find out the Target Center Schedule even before tickets go on sale is a local ticket broker web site. This Target Center Schedule by Ticket King often includes events that haven’t been officially announced to the public yet. It’s like an “insiders” schedule. They put the events on their site as soon as they hear any rumbling about it so they can get the event in front of their customers and web search engines as soon as possible.

For example, if you want to see Journey or Cheap Trick at the Target Center in September, you can fill out a Journey Cheap Trick ticket request and when there are tickets available you will get a call or an email – you wouldn’t even know that Cheap Trick or Journey was coming in September from the Target Center web site or Ticketmaster! at least not this far in advance.

Harlem Globetrotters

Someone asked me in the office the other day what the Harlem Globetrotters were and I replied, “Remember those cool basketball guys from Scooby-Doo?” That is how I remember the Harlem Globetrotters, but I know they are even bigger than their Scooby Doo appearances. The Harlem Globetrotters put on a unique basketball show on hardwoods across the country, selling out some of the biggest basketball arenas. I am pretty sure there will be more people at the Target Center Harlem Globetrotters shows than at some of the Timberwolves games this year.

The Globetrotters ball-handling magic and gravity-defying dunks will be a welcome sight in the NBA defunct Minneapolis market.

Target Center Concert Schedule has something for everyone

The Target Center Minneapolis continues to book a wide array of music for Minnesota music lovers. Whether you were a teen girl shrieking for the Jonas Brothers on Wednesday or you are holding Target Center tickets for the Foo Fighters this Wednesday or you prefer to see a live contemporary Christian show like Toby Mac and Jeremy Camp on Saturday March 1st, the Target Center has it all.

Other upcoming shows include punk rocker girl Avril Lavigne and Three Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin later in March. Check out the Target Center Schedule for a complete list of events. Lavigne to bring her skater-punk to the Target Center

Our favorite Canadian skater-punk vixen Avril Lavigne will visit her home countries friendly border neighbor to the south on March 20. Lavigne, who continues to cross over to other forms of media including movies and fashion, will play a rock show at the Target Center for adoring fans. Avril Lavigne was just here in December playing part in the local Jingle Ball festivities that brought multiple performers to the Target Center. It will be interesting to see what kind of fan base lies for Avril Lavigne and if she can fill up her half arena Target Center set-up on her own. Three Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin

Three Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin will be taking the stage at the Target Center on Monday, March 24th, 2008 at 6:30 pm. Three Days Grace is best known for their 2005 hit “I Hate Everything About You.” In 2007, Three Days Grace released One-X and have found success with the song, “Just Like You.”

Opening the show will be Pennsylvania’s Breaking Benjamin. I was going to Google ‘Breaking Benjamin’ to find some cool fact about them to write here, but the truth is that I don’t care that much. And I can’t believe that they are playing at the Target Center Minneapolis!

Target Center quiet for Holidays

After tonight’s Timberwolves Indiana Pacers game the Target Center will be quiet until after the New Year. Can you believe it? No Timberwolves games or concerts for over 10 days. Enjoy the time off Target Center staff. Happy Holidays everyone!

Trans Siberian Orchestra at Target Center

The Trans Siberian Orchestra will be at the Target Center this weekend for it’s largest ever holiday tour. Trans Siberian will play in more than 90 cities over a ten week span that started on November 1st.

The Xcel Energy Center hosted TSO last year, but this year the Target Center booked the hit show just in time for the holidays. In fact, the show was so popular at the Xcel last year that the Target Center decided to book two Trans Siberian shows this Saturday December 15th at 3pm and 8pm. Target Center hosts Dane Cook and Timberwolves Basketball

The Target Center Schedule for November is filled with Timberwolves NBA games and comedian Dane Cook on Friday November 23rd (the day after Thanksgiving). The young Timberwolves team puts on a high energy show and Timberwolves Tickets are pretty cheap right now so if you have NBA fever, scoop up a pair and head out to the Target Center for an evening out.

Dane Cook should also be a good time during his rough around the edges tour. I just saw Dane in Steve Carrell’s new movie Dan in Real Life and I saw him on the Letterman show recently. Dane Cook is a funny guy, he’s no Steve Carell, but he is a funny and his human behavior jokes always crack me up.
