Minnesota Lynx Likely First Round Opponent

So the Minnesota Lynx have clinched this best record in the WNBA and now are just waiting for the WNBA playoffs. The Lynx should be able to make their way out of the Western Conference fairly easily considering they cruised through the regular season. As of right now, their likely first round match up is with the San Antonio Silver Stars. The Lynx are 4-0 this season against the Silver Stars. The Silver Stars are right behind the Phoenix Mercury and hopefully Phoenix is able to hold them off because the Lynx match up much better with Phoenix. Interesting tidbit, the Lynx play the Mercury for the last game of the season, shouldn't the Lynx just let the Mercury win so that they don't have to play them in the final game? I think so.

Minnesota Lynx Magic Number Down to 1

The Minnesota Lynx are one game away from clinching the best record in the WNBA. They are so good it's scary. One Lynx victory over the next four games or 1 loss by the Indiana Fever and the Minnesota Lynx will have clinched the best record in the entire WNBA. They beat Washington in the Target Center 73-56. This team is scary good and I can't wait for the playoffs. People should definitely try to get some tickets for the playoffs because who knows how far this team will go. I could definitely see them winning a WNBA championship. Can't wait for the parade!

Mercury End Lynx's 9 Game Win Streak

The Minnesota Lynx did all they could Sunday night, but still didn't come away with a win. The Lynx lost 85-80 to the Mercury in Phoenix on Sunday night. They got all the performances that they needed from their stars, but Diana Taurasi came away with a critical steal with just 20 seconds remaining in the game.

Maya Moore led the way for the Lynx with 28 points while Seimone Augustus poured in 26 points of her own.

Minnesota Lynx home opener ends in a disappointment but fans are looking forward to 2010 Lynx Season with Lindsey Whalen

Minnesota Lynx play home games at Target Center
Sunday night the Minnesota Lynx played their first home game of the 2010 Lynx season. Fan support for the Lynx and their new hometown star Lindsey Whalen was at an all time high as almost 10,000 fans showed up to watch the Lynx kick off their season.

The Minnesota Lynx hung tight and at times fans were confident that they would pull out a win, but at the end of the night the WNBA Minnesota Lynx walked away with a 87-76 loss. However, fan spirit in the Target Center was reflective of a win. Local fans have been waiting for Lindsey Whalen to come back to Minnesota since she graduated from the University of Minnesota where she was a star on the Golden Gophers Basketball Team.

A Minnesota Lynx representative told reporters he felt that fan support wouldn’t wane even if the Lynx weren’t winning right after the bat and he's probably right. Minnesotans are looking for a reason to be exctied about basketball at the Target Center and Whalen and the WNBA Lynx may be the answer.
