Timberwolves Exercise Options for Wesley Johnson, Lazar Hayward, Wayne Ellington

The Minnesota Timberwolves have announced today that they are exercising the options for Lazar Hayward, Wesley Johnson, and Wayne Ellington. One of them makes sense, the other two don't. By exercising the options, they guarantee that the wolves will be able to keep them all through the 2012-2013 season.

They had to pick up the 3rd year option for Wes Johnson. It was an obvious move. He was pretty good last year and has a ton of potential and they invested a ton of their future into him.

Lazar Hayward? Are you kidding me? Here's the problem I have with this, this is an example of Kahn simply being stubborn. Admit you screwed up with Lazar Hayward and that he isn't an NBA player.

Wayne Ellington makes some sense. He is a pretty good three point shooter, something this team needs, but he is nothing more than that. You just have to say when you're making these decisions. is this guy a part of our future? The answer with Ellington is clearly no.

Hopefully the Wolves made the moves in hopes of trading these two guys, but here's what I think: they won't get jack back for these two. Nobody wants them.
