Target Center Minneapolis Address

Target Center is located on 600 First Avenue North in downtown Minneapolis and is the home arena to the National Basketball Association's (NBA) Minnesota Timberwolves and Women's National Basketball Association's (WNBA) Minnesota Lynx.

The Target Center was opened on October 13, 1990 and was originally built and owned by the Minnesota Timberwolves. The cost of the Target Center construction was $104 million. The construction of the Target Center took a total of two years and three months, and the facility currently takes up 1.5 square blocks in downtown Minneapolis. On October 16, the Minnesota Timberwolves played their first game at the Target Center against the Philadelphia 76ers. In 1996, the Target Center was home to the Arena Football League Team Minnesota Fighting Pike.

In 2004, the Target Center did main renovation that saw the replacement of all 19,006 of its original seats plus nearly 1,500 extra new seats were added to the Target Center Seatinc Chart. The configuration of the lower bowl was changed as well to make the Target Center arena more fan-friendly. The Target Center is connected by a skyway to many of the surrounding parking ramps, ensuring that its patrons never have to step outside in the arctic Minnesota winter conditions when winter hits. Following the renovation, the minimum amenities of the arena, led some critics to describe the building as "the type of arena a Target store might sell."

The Target Center Minneapolis is just one of three NBA arenas with parquet floors. Target Center boasts ownership of one of only two movable arena floors in the country, which can be fully raised or lowered within 25 minutes. The Target Center Seating Chart capacity varies from event to event; basketball seats 20,500; hockey and arena football seats 17,500; center-stage Target Center concerts seats 19,500; and the end-stage concerts seats 13,000 to 19,000.
